The Belle Top "light" is the lighter version of the Belle Tank Top and is worked from top to bottom. First, the front straps are knitted with increases for the neckline. The front pieces are then joined together, and the armholes are shaped by working increases on both sides.

The back piece is then worked in the same way. After that, the front and back pieces are joined together and worked in the round. The body is knitted in stockinette stitch to the desired length. At the bottom, a folded hem is worked and sewn to the inside.

Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline and armholes, and the edges are finished using double knitting.

Choosing the right size:

The Belle Top Light is designed with approximately –11 cm [4.3 in] of negative ease at the bust.

Example:

If your bust circumference is 90 cm [35.4 in], you should knit size 4, since 90 cm minus 11 cm [4.3 in] equals 79 cm [31.1 in].

If you're between two sizes, choose the one that suits your preferred fit — more fitted or looser.


Gauge

25 stitches / 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 in] in stockinette stitch after washing and blocking with 3.0 mm needles

Note! To achieve a well-fitting top, it is essential to match the gauge exactly. Choose the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. If you don’t match the 38 rows exactly, see section 1.0 for adjustment options. Please note that this affects the amount of yarn needed.
